Holiday Meal

Our holiday meal will be served on Tuesday, December 9th.  Please join us for roast turkey and gravy, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, whole wheat roll and sweet potato crisp.  The cost is $2.75.  See your cafeteria manager for more details. 

 
Telephone Book Recycling

New telephone books are being delivered in the East Central area and we would love to recycle your old telephone books.  Please feel free to drop them at any of our cafeterias.

East Central purchases 8,950 bottles of milk per day in five varieties--skim and 1% white, and lowfat chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla.
All of the plastic milk bottles that East Central purchases are made of 100% recyclable material.  According to National Dairy Council pilot tests, recycling plastic milk bottles could reduce trash volume between 9% and 20%. Recycling a ton of plastic bottles saves the equivalent of 3.8 barrels of oil.

Students in all 11 East Central schools are learning how to “drink it then sink it” through a new recycling program which teaches students to respect the environment by recycling plastic milk containers served with school meals.
